Haha! You sought comments from Martin Blackwell for your article!

Not a full song, but a great clip, great combination of out-of-controlness from Reggie followed by instant guilt and concern as his guitar careers into other instruments at the side of the stage...

This is a ripper of avoidable droid. I especially like the Magic Dirt drum kit and when P.Cross cops a can in the chest. Rawk!

    TSOMM = "tron-pop"...
    i'd like to see a band that's labelled "Schindler's list-pop", or "Sixteen candles-pop"

There's some really cool videos on youtube of Asking For It playing someone on the mainland as a full band with an electric guitar, sounds so great, he should definately do it more often.

    What was woeful about it?
That you don't like prog rock? OK, so why comment?
That they put some production values into the recording? Shocking innit?
  • mark downie wrote on 4 Jan '09, 14:26 report
the APRA stage turds footage (that samora posted) should be worth checking out, we had the spiderman wrestlers and uninvited guest vocals from jimmy steele (if you ignore them they go away)

That was a really shit thing to do by that pop idol guy. What an asshole.
  • catfight wrote on 4 Jan '09, 15:35 report
It's ok. Jimmy's our mate and the kind of band we are, we need to expect that kind of thing. But you gotta wonder how he would have reacted, had Mark or myself behaved that way at a Staunches show...
  • mark downie wrote on 4 Jan '09, 22:03 report
it appears that he was trying to show us up, that or he was smashed and felt like making a dick of himself.
there is footage where he goes to one microphone to sing, then the sound engineer turds that mic off, so he goes to the next one, turns that off, then to the next one. we just ignore him and he goes away.
there is also some other punter running around us as we play, some lewd acts with underpants, and of course the spidermen wrestling (which is golden)
we do seem to get weird reactions out of audiences, its just the style of music we do.
  • automated wrote on 4 Jan '09, 22:10 report
I reckon you guys should rock up at the next staunches gigs with megaphones.
