thought it might be a good idea to start a thread for people to announce and discuss new and upcoming tasmanian albums, eps, singles and downloads. if you know of any upcoming releases by tasmanian acts please post here. it'll be of particular help with my work with edge radio but also will help folks start hyping their wares.

so far i have gleaned new releases out now/soon from:
    the que
    badly baked babies
    mdusu/dameza
    enola fall
    ragged anns
    fell to erin
    the reactions

also it looks like retrospective releases are in the works for:
    the gentlemen
    the stickmen
    headcleaner
plus they're may be a compilation of hobart stuff from 1993?-2000? coming out on tom from the nation blue's label solar/sonar.

check out regulary updated downloads on the consumer website

what does disconnect have coming up? can the asa mob add to this as well.

yeah there's a single kicking round at the moment which has 3 tracks + instrumentals(1 track is on the album and 2 that are exclusive to the single) and a 20 min mix of my favourite verses from the forthcoming 'sounds from our town' album.

you can grab it at ruffcut records or from tommy, james or me.

    it'll set you back a whole $7!!

the album will hit stores in about 3 weeks.

Well, in the metal world there are 2 that I am aware of at the moment.
One has already been announced here which is Mephistopheles' first full length. It will be out within the next 2 months, and there's a sample at their site- mephistopheles.annandin.com .

Not mentioned on the site is Ice Eater. Ice Eater have recently been in the studio and recorded tracks for a forthcoming e.p release- date unknown at this point.
More info and sample tracks for d/l is here:
They will also be playing a show in May so keep your eyes peeled in the gigs section.

The Reactions have seven songs currently being mixed in Sydney by our old pal Rusty Hopkinson from You Am I. We are in the process of finishing the remaining for songs and are aiming for a July release all things going well.

It will include 3 brand new tunes never played before a couple we've only played a handful of times and a few of war horses that have been kicking about in the live set for a little while but have been tarted up in the studio a tad.

Thanks for the opportunity through this forum of publicising Tassie Bands CD's and where to get some radio playtime. Liquid Nails CD of 10 original tracks has just been released, outlets are still being negotiated, although Red Hot CD's in Devonport has them. If you like Contemporary Rock, Blues, Country, Punk and Reggae then this CD might be for you.

The Belchers, I'm told, are well into the process of recording and mixing their full-length.

Halfmast will be recording soon-ish too, so I'm lead to believe.

I have a feeling both will be released roughly around the same time.

Im glad you mention Tim Cox, JDT. There are some good interviews on there somedays. Edge's election coverage really works in the same way.
